Partnering for tomorrow’s leaders

Fall at Camp Bighorn means more then just dropping temperatures, bare trees, and the start of fireplace season. It also means that Prairie Bible College’s Explore and Discover programs will be partnering with us to extend their educational experience outside of the classroom.

From the begining of September to the middle of October we had 40+ college students here with us seeking to grow in their understanding of ministry, leadership, community and their personal Christian faith. For the Discover Intercultural program that meant visits to homeless shelters, church services, Burmese refugee workers and plenty of group debriefing. The Explore Outdoor Leadership program took to the rocks, rivers, ropes and mountains to gain both the technical and soft skills required to be an effective leader in the outdoor adventure environment. In the end, both learned that the start of God’s work begins with a personal transformed heart lived honestly in community with others.  We look forward to hosting back the Explore program in January. Until then, we wish them the best as they take to the books to continue their education.

The partnership with Prairie is just one more opportunity that Camp Bighorn has in moving its mission of training and equipping servant-leaders forward.
