College Spotlight

Every Spring Prairie Bible College has a week long reading break. This allows students the time and space to catch up on all of the homework that has potentially piled up, as well as giving them time to prepare for the finals and assignments that will be due at the end of the year. But down in Montana, the Explore students continued in the tradition of “all things fun and crazy” by doing a week long road trip to mountain bike and hike Moab and Zion National Park. Despite some of the Spring snow weather the group of students that went enjoyed their time and even completed the epic “Angel’s Landing Hike.” Following their reading break the Explore 1 students will  be taking back to the mountains one last time for their final team trip of the year.

Meanwhile the 2nd year Explore students traveled down to Texas to complete a two week canoeing and hiking trip along the Rio Grande. This was a first time environment for Explore and the desert landscape provided some new challenges that continued to strengthen and hone the leadership and outdoor wilderness skills of the students. In the week ahead the Explore 2 students will be traveling to Washington to lead a group of at-risk youth on a backpacking trip.

While the year is coming to an end and we will soon say good-bye to the college students from Prairie Bible College we have been blessed and enjoyed their presence and we hope and pray that the lessons learned here at Camp Bighorn will continue with them as they venture off into new unexplored territory.
