End of the week blog 6/28/2010 – 7/2/2010

Summer camping season has begun. This week we have three camps happening at the same time.

Day Camp:

Day camp is for the kids in the area. They spend the day at camp doing all kinds of fun things like: going to chapel, making crafts, playing games, learning gymnastics, swimming, and eating together.  The theme for day camp this year is “The Ocean”.  The campers and the staff are having lots of fun with the underwater theme. The older day campers spent the night at camp on Thursday night. They had a chapel service around the camp fire. Many marshmallows were roasted and enjoyed by the campers and staff Day camp will wrap up tonight with a barbecue for the campers and their families. The kids have had lots of fun this week at camp.

Adventure Camp 1:

The Adventure Camp this week is a high school youth group from Temple Baptist Church in Portland Oregon. They have lots of exciting events planned for this week. Their events for  the week are ropes  course, rock climbing, and kayaking. Campers and staff are all having a great time here at camp. The high school camp had chapel services in the evenings after busy days of exciting events. The group left for home on Friday morning after breakfast. They all seemed to have a great time here at Camp Bighorn.

Junior High Camp:

We have a small group of junior high kids here for camp this week. They have a busy schedule of adventures planned for the week. Their events for the week are ropes course, rock climbing, kayaking, biking, rafting.  The campers and staff are enjoying the beautiful sunny weather and coming together as a team. The Junior High camp had chapel in the evenings. This was a great time of fellowship and worship after busy days of events around camp. They all headed back home Friday morning after breakfast. This group really enjoyed their week at camp.
