BIO- Caleb

After attending the Explore Program and finishing a B.A. in Youth Ministry, Caleb worked at a residential program for teens “at risk” for one year.  Having a passion for the outdoors, Caleb came on Camp Bighorn staff in May of 2008 to begin Venture, a program that puts on adventure experiences with underprivileged youth, addiction recovery groups, and residential boarding schools.

BIO- Jen

It’s been 4 years since I, Jen, first came to Camp Bighorn with my youth group from Lighthouse Christian Center of Puyallup, WA.  My illustrious career has spanned from dabbling in the kitchen (which led to me becoming Kitchen Manager), a season segueing into Facilities (cleaning bathrooms, dorms and cabins, oh my!) all the while moonlighting as Summer Registrar.

As my marital status changed December 11, 2010, so too has my position at Camp Bighorn.  I am now part of the Program Team which enables me to work alongside Caleb helping coordinate the administrative side of Venture Expedition’s activities.  Another aspect of this new position entails planning, ordering, and aiding in the preparation of food for the various events occurring off site that require meal service.

Creativity comes into play as I get to meal plan for various levels of cooking experience from quick and easy meals to cooking from scratch on the trail.  There is also opportunity for me to be stretched as I will periodically assist on various outings, thus increasing my exposure to those whom we serve through Camp!  I’m excited to be afforded a chance to further apply myself as I continue to learn to serve the Lord with all that I am.
