Recap
Cathedral of Joy, a church from Richland, WA brought their middle school and high school youth groups out. Justin Porter, their youth pastor was with us last year for the first time and was so impressed he sought out more adventure for his group by coming out for our Winter Camp this December. This year he felt God was wanting his group to develop a deeper sense of community together. The adventure experiences his group had challenged each individual to care for the other. A lot of people were facing their fears, particularly on the river and the group stepped up to the plate by supporting each other. Friendships were formed and conflict was turned into care as the group learned to appreciate the best in each other. This was demonstrated best when one individual was willing to step into a situation that was difficult for him for the sake of the rest of his group. He was met in response with love and encouragement.
The other group out this week was Coeur D’alene Bible Church. Titus Ledger, a former summer staff member here at Camp Bighorn led the Jr high group in a purposeful week of seeking God, loving each other, and developing a faith that stands solely on the grace of God. It was especially encouraging to see this groups willingness to process their experience. Lessons were learned in every moment of the day.
